It’s been 5 months since the last update on our adoption and not a lot has changed. Unless you’ve been living under a rock you all know about the pandemic that brought the world to a standstill, and just when we thought we’d reached the end of our adoption journey and would soon return to bring our daughter home, the virus spread to India and to the United States causing travel visas to be revoked amid nationwide lock downs in India. The last 5 months have been very trying for us as a family. We’re happy that she has been in a safe and loving environment while she waits, and that the impact of Covid-19 has been limited on her home. We’re thankful for the technology that has allowed us to video chat with her on a regular basis too; however it was really sad that we missed a third birthday with her as this process has passed the two-and-a-half year mark.
With all that said, we were so happy to get word late last week that India has decided to extend emergency travel visas to adoptive families who have completed the legal process and are just waiting to pick their children up. That means that we should be traveling back to India in the next few weeks to bring our little girl home! Thanks to everyone who has been praying for us about this, and many apologies for not being as active in posting new content as I should have been. It’s been a crazy year, but I’ll get into that more later on.
In the meantime, please pray for the rest of the process to go smoothly. Pray for safety as we travel and safety from infection. Also pray for limited time in quarantine. We’re expecting to have to quarantine when we return to the States, but as long as we have a negative test within 72 hours of our flight to India we won’t have to quarantine over there. Also pray for our boys during the wait who desperately want their sister home, and for our daughter who is patiently waiting. Thanks again, and I’ll let you all know once we’re cleared to travel again.
