“Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all.” – Romans 12:17
As humans we have a natural tendency to seek justice when we are wronged. When we are lied to, lied about, slandered, robbed, cheated, or hurt we want to see the offender punished. This longing for justice, I believe, comes from our being made in the image and likeness of God. However, in our human condition we also have a tendency to repay evil for evil.
However, to live in the holiness that God has called His people to we must live in a way that is counter to our human nature. We must live, suffer, and endure all things in a way that is honorable. We can still seek justice as long as it is done in an appropriate way. We should seek the good of all people, even those who would seek to do evil against us.
Great post and an even important message! Thanks for sharing! ~Blessings~
